This is a rather long tutorial.

I forgot to mention two things in the tutorial:
1-You should have the comic resized before adding text.
2-If you need to stop working on it before you are done, you can save it as .xcf to preserve the layers.

In this tutorial you will learn a little about layers, the paths tool, rectangular and elliptical select and GIMP shortcuts. Anything in parenthesis is a short-cut, such as (crtl+L), which opens the layer dialouge
